We believe people deserve to know how their tools work. Here's exactly what Astrelle calculates and how the AI uses the data you give us.
Every chart is calculated using the same astronomical data source professional astrologers and high-end astrology software rely on. Planetary positions are accurate to within an arc-second across our supported date range (1900 – 2100).
House system: We default to Placidus for consistency with most Western astrology. Whole Sign, Equal, and Koch are available in settings. House cusps depend on a known birth time and birth location.
Transits are calculated against your natal chart in real time and we use a 1° orb for major aspects. Forecast dates are exact — no fuzzy windows.
We use the Rider-Waite-Smith deck (78 cards). Every draw is shuffled afresh using secure randomness, so the cards are never selected to fit a predetermined message.
Reversals are optional per user — toggle in settings. Interpretations are written by us; the AI personalizes them to the question's context (love, career, self, spiritual, yes/no) but never generates the base meanings.
We use the Pythagorean system. Life Path, Expression, Soul Urge, Personality, and Birthday numbers are calculated from your full birth name and birthdate.
Master numbers (11, 22, 33) are preserved — we do not reduce them to single digits. Personal year, month, and day cycles use standard reduction rules per accepted modern numerology.
The advisor uses your natal chart, current transits, full numerology profile, recent journal entries, captured life events, and prior conversation history as context when you permit it. We may update the language model behind Astrelle over time, but every change goes through the same quality checks before it reaches you.
We store your conversations and journals as embeddings in a private vector database (one namespace per user) so the advisor can recall what's been discussed without re-sending the full transcript every time. You can view and delete these memories under Settings → Your data.
We never train Astrelle models on your data. Your messages may be processed by our model provider to answer your request and stored by our infrastructure providers to operate your account. API model providers do not train on your data under their standard API terms.
Astrelle’s notifications are drawn from a hand-written library of 100 templates, each tied to a real astrological or numerological trigger. The voice is deliberate: specific, restrained, never woo. Below are eight examples — one per trigger category — that show up unchanged on your lock screen when the sky matches.

Triggered when a relevant transit re-activates a topic you wrote about in a journal entry or advisor conversation in the last 30 days.
Before an Advisor update goes live, we test it with a private collection of questions written by practicing astrologers. The collection covers different placements, house systems, transit timing, and unusual chart patterns. We check that each answer uses the right chart details, respects the boundaries below, and sounds clear and human.
No interpretation system is perfect. A reading can put too much weight on one placement or miss a subtle connection elsewhere in the chart. We keep testing for those misses and share meaningful quality updates in our changelog.

Your birth data, your journals, your advisor conversations, and your saved life events stay in your account. We never use them to train a model — ours or anyone else's. Anthropic, our model provider, has the standard zero-retention agreement in place for API traffic.
One-click export and one-click delete both live at /settings. Delete removes you end-to-end within 24 hours, including from our backups within 30 days. Export gives you JSON of everything in your account.
