Mercury in Aries is the answer. Mercury governs how a person processes and transmits thought, and in Aries it moves fast, impulsively, ahead of refinement. It does not draft. It marks. Aries Mercury thinks by committing — the act of writing the word IS the thought, not a record of a thought that already happened. This is why the text in Twombly's work looks like it was written at speed, without revision, sometimes barely legible. It was not meant to be read in the literary sense. It was Mercury in Aries doing what it does: externalizing cognition as raw gesture before the editing function kicks in. Pair that with a Taurus Sun that wants physical evidence of process and you get words treated as marks — language collapsed back into its physical form.

Leo Rising is the part of the chart the public sees first, and Leo Rising knows how to enter a room. But the engine underneath it is a Taurus Sun and a Cancer Moon, and neither of those placements has any appetite for sustained public exposure. Taurus Sun conserves. It does not perform for free. A place becomes home when the Moon has had enough years to make it feel continuous with the past. Twombly gave it decades.
